From: Harry Lewis To: Subject: PWG> PWG Austin minutes Date: Thu, 10 Apr 1997 20:00:58 -0400 Now that we have so many sub-groups with seperate documentation, I don't know how useful "PWG minutes" are and I'm not sure where to post them on the PWG server. But, I was asked to take them so I'm attaching, here, what I recorded. About the only thing of interest which would not be covered elsewhere is the brief discussion, Tuesday, about PWG relation to other standards bodies. Harry Lewis - IBM Printing Systems --------------------------------------------------------------------------- PWG minutes - 4/2/97 to 4/4097 - Austin Reading the Minutes: In general, there are separate minutes for each PWG project (IPP, PMP, JMP, SENSE and P1394). The PWG minutes track the overall flow of the PWG set of meetings as well as details of any topics that do not fall under an established project. This months minutes for PWG, PMP and JMP were taken by Harry Lewis. IPP minutes were taken and provided by Don Wright. P1394 minutes taken by Larry Stein. See individual project minutes for action items. See the PWG web page at www.pwg.org for a list of overall attendees. Wednesday --------- Administration 8:40 to 8:45 Introductions - Don will post attendance list to PWG web. Next Meeting - May 14-16 - San Diego See PWG web page for further details Marriott Suites Symphony Towers - $149 per night plus meeting charge PMP 8:45 to 10:45 Lloyd Young presiding. Goal to close all PMP issues to closure. Misc discussion 10:45 to 10:50 What about WBEM. Where is it going. Does PWG care? Also RDMI, Salutation - should the PWG interact? Will we update the printer MIF form the new MIB? PWG members should remain in contact with these other organizations and bring any issues or opportunities to the PWG as they see fit. If WEBEM ever takes off, that would be the time to update the MIF and try to make sure WEBEM uses the PWG derived MIF rather than re-invent a printer management database. Break P1394 11:30 to 12:20 Cooperation between PWG P1394, Japan PWG-C (C for consumer) and 1394 Trade Association discussed. Also, other, breakout P1394 sessions occured. Lunch 12:20 to 1:40 P1394 1:40 to 2:20 Thursday -------- IPP 8:45 - 12:30 Lunch IPP 1:30 - 5:30 Friday ------ PMP 8:45 - 10:00 JMP 10:00 - 12:00 Lunch JMP 1:30 - 3:00 JMP Editor's group 3:00 - 5:30 Tom Hastings, Ron Bergman and Harry Lewis remained after the meeting to make as many agreed changes to the documentation as possible in preperation for the Memphis IETF meeting.
