PWG Billing Policy - October 1, 2014 (editor: msweet@apple.com) Abstract This policy document clarifies the voting eligibility rules in PWG Process/3.0 by defining what it means for a PWG member to be "in good standing". This version is available in the directory: http://ftp.pwg.org/pub/pwg/general/process/pwg-billing-policy-20141001.txt -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PWG Billing Policy (Normative) Section 8.3.2 of the PWG Standards Development Process v3.0 requires that a PWG Member Organization must be "in good standing" in order to vote, but never defines what that means. The IEEE-ISTO manages the billing of membership dues for all PWG Member Organizations. At the direction of the PWG Steering Committee, invoices for membership dues are sent to all members at the beginning of November of the prior year. For example, invoices for 2015 dues will be sent out on November 3, 2014. Terms for these invoices are Net 90, which allows members to pay through the end of January and avoids billing complications caused by the end-of-year holiday schedule enjoyed by many members. If a member has not paid by the end of January, the IEEE-ISTO will begin sending late notices to each member until the member pays or indicates they will not be renewing their membership. At this point the member is still considered to be "in good standing" for purposes of voting rights. If a member has not paid by the end of April, that member is no longer considered "in good standing" and their voting rights will be suspended. If a member has not paid by the end of June, their membership will be revoked unless decided otherwise by the PWG Steering Committee.
