(3) PWG Antitrust Reminder to be added to meeting preambles

- Discussion
  - Smith working to resolve request from ISTO that PWG needs to have an antitrust reminder.

  - Basic PWG needs:
    - An antitrust reminder statement in slide decks / read at the start of meetings 
      pointing to the PWG's antitrust policy

    - PWG or ISTO authored and approved policy

  - Smith met with Joni Sterlacci on 01/25/21
    - Not clear whether we need antitrust guidelines given our openness
      - Joni checking with ISTO COO / ISTO Legal to see if it is needed
      - Response was yes, we do need to have this

  - SAE and IETF both have these and their calls are open
    - Where do we get (a) text for an antitrust policy; and (b) boilerplate statements 
      that can be presented in writing and spoken, and that will state that those that 
      disagree have to remove themselves from our calls / mailing lists / etc.

    - If so, best path forward is to create a new PWG Policy using the text from 
      IEEE-ISTO "Bylaws Template V2.0 APPROVED.doc" article 4 or equivalent text

    - Create our own Bylaws and merge with PWG Process to create Process 4.0?

    - PWG is the *only* ISTO program that depends on IEEE-ISTO bylaws 
      - All others created their own from a template provided by IEEE-ISTO

    - Ira observed that Bylaws should be very short and only immutable rules
      - Process or Policy documents should contain all content that may change over time

  - CUPS OpenPrinting v2.3.3op1 - released on 27 November 2020
    - First release in CUPS OP fork (until Apple resumes support for CUPS).

    - Already made it into Debian unstable and will soon get merged into Ubuntu Hirsute 
      Hippo (21.04).

    - Also, the CUPS Snap is updated to this version of CUPS OP.

  - PAPPL v1.0.0 - released on 12/11/20
    - First stable release of PAPPL is now available for download.

    - PAPPL is a simple C-based framework/library for developing CUPS Printer Applications, 
      which are the recommended replacement for traditional printer drivers.

  - CUPS Filters v1.28.7 - released on 01/07/21
    - Bug fix release.

  - OP GSoC 2021 - planning - in progress
    - Currently looking for project ideas for next year’s GSoC.
    - Student projects will only be half the time (6 weeks).

  - OP GSoD (Google Season of Docs) 2020 - completed on 12/05/20
    - 1 student made excellent progress on Printer Applications documentation.

  - LFMP (Linux Foundation Mentorship Program) - completed in December 2020
    - IPP Scan - 2 students made good progress - completeness is TBD.
    - IPP FaxOut - 2 students dropped out in October and November 2020.

  - OP Steering Committee
    - OP monthly calls 11/10/20, 12/08/20, 01/12/21, and upcoming 02/02/21.

- "arc" is any single value (often least-significant) in an OID - Existing plain text PWG policy and registry for each PWG MIB base OID - IBM gave PWG a permanent arc for LDAP OIDs for Print Schema (RFC 7612)
- LDAP OIDs to be documented in a additional policy and registry in ".../process/"
ACTION: Smith/Mike/Ira/anybody to draft whitepaper on late binding for best fidelity in Cloud servers, intent vs. process for output fidelity, and the fundamental design ethos of the PWG's work

- Perhaps have as a topic for some future PWG F2F to enumerate core set of concepts with which to construct an outline for the document
